FAQs

Why should I preserve my family’s memories?

Converting and maintaining a copy of your family movies, photographs and documents will preserve your family’s heritage. By transferring the items to digital format on a portable thumb drive or DVD, you are saving your family history forever. You’ll be able to view these memories and to share them with others for generations to come.

What is the process?

You will bring your items to us–movies, videotapes, photographs, documents–we will inventory them with you and then start the process of preserving the items. We will carefully scan, enhance, convert and transfer them to a digital format. We will then save and store them on a portable thumb drive(s) or DVD(s).  We will also provide a secure, password-protected website where you can upload the new photos and movies to share with family and friends.  We will return your items to you, along with your digitized memories on a thumb drive(s)/DVD(s).

Preserving old home movies, photos and documents by converting them to a modern digital format is the most affordable way to preserve your family heritage. Once converted, your new digital memories can be stored in a variety of affordable digital storage outlets: thumb drive, DVD or a portable USB hard drive. They can be viewed on any personal or home device and shared via our website. Your memories will be ready to share with loved ones.

How much does it cost to digitize documents and movies?

Our overall pricing is simple and very comparable to other services. Our conversion service prices include: $19.99 per videotape, $19.99 per 50 ft. movie film, $.49 per photo, and $.49 per two documents. We also offer bundling prices and can provide a custom quote for your particular project.

Will I get my documents and movies back?

Absolutely! While in our position, they are safe and protected until their return to you. You can trust Digital Family Heritage (a division of Tech Force Onsite, LLC) with your most precious memories. We will take good care of them.

What’s the timeline for an order?

Each order is different, of course, depending on volume of objects. Generally, the turnaround time for orders is 2-4 weeks. Simple projects (i.e., 1-3 movies, 50 photographs) may only take 2-4 days, though. Contact us for a timeline estimate.
